Cabernet Sauvignon, originally from Bordeaux, was introduced to Tuscany in the 19th century and has since thrived in the region's climate, contributing structure and aging potential to the blend. Sangiovese, Tuscany's indigenous grape, adds vibrant acidity and bright fruit flavors, while Cabernet Franc, also of Bordeaux origin, brings aromatic complexity and subtle spice notes. Marchesi Antinori, established in 1385 by Giovanni di Piero Antinori, is one of the world's oldest family-owned wineries, now led by the 26th generation.
