Goose Ridge began as the Monson family farm in the early 1900s, and the family shifted from orchards and cattle to grape growing when Arvid Monson established estate vineyards on the Goose Gap slopes in the late 20th century. Over time the property grew into a contiguous estate of roughly 2,000 to 2,200 acres, making it one of Washington states largest single vineyard holdings. The estate sits near Benton City and adjacent to the Red Mountain area, and it supplies fruit for several Goose Ridge labels while maintaining a focus on low yields and site specific farming. Today Goose Ridge remains family owned, combining modern viticulture and sustainable practices with a long local farming heritage.
