La Capranera is a small estate based in the Capaccio Paestum area of Campania, focused on indigenous Campanian varieties such as Fiano, Falanghina and Aglianico. The name refers to the black goat breed that grazes in the nearby Cilento National Park, which inspired the estate identity and ties to local biodiversity. Under owner Giuseppe Pagano and with winemaking input from Riccardo Cotarella the estate produces modest volumes with an emphasis on sustainable viticulture and terroir expression. The vineyards sit close to the Tyrrhenian coast which moderates the climate and helps produce ripe balanced fruit, bringing renewed international attention to wines from this part of Campania.
