The Marchisio family has farmed the hills of the Roero since the late 1800s, and the business today operates as Marchisio Family Organic Estate. Under Sergio Marchisio and his sons Fabio and Ivo the winery became known locally for pioneering Arneis plantings in Castellinaldo and for making a Nebbiolo and Arneis based sparkling wine. The estate follows organic and biodynamic principles across roughly twenty two hectares, using a partly underground cellar that relies on natural insulation and photovoltaic energy. They also age some Nebbiolo in ceramic amphorae and offer tastings and visits at their Castellinaldo facility.
