Fontanabianca was founded in 1969 by Franco Pola in the hamlet of Bordini near Neive in the Piedmont Langhe region. The estate grew from selling grapes to bottling its own wines under the next generation, led by Aldo Pola and Bruno Ferro, who modernized the cellar while keeping family traditions. Fontanabianca is best known for Barbaresco made from single vineyards in Neive, it also produces Barbera, Dolcetto and a Metodo Classico sparkling wine. The winery emphasizes hand work in the vineyard and local practices that respect the land, and it has been recognized within regional quality and slow food circles. Visitors can tour the cellar at the estate and taste a range of wines that express the limestone and clay soils of the area.
